Announcing the 2026 Tybee Beach Bum Parade Royalty!
We’re thrilled to introduce the island legends who will lead the wet and wild fun at this year’s Beach Bum Parade! Each of them embodies the heart, humor, and community spirit that makes Tybee such a special place.
GRAND MARSHALL: David Jones
Known to most as the man in charge at Quarter Bar, David Jones has been slinging drinks and welcoming locals and tourists at several island watering holes for 32 years. A local legend, he is always there to lend an ear or a hand, pour you a drink or tell you a story. As a realtor with Realty One, he can also help you find your dream island home! David is a genuinely good man, and his warmth, integrity, honesty, and intelligence make him the perfect person to lead our storied parade.
QUEEN: Debbie Pagan
She may be our Beach Bum Queen, but Debbie Pagan holds another honorary title: The Mayor of Lewis Avenue. If you have ever experienced Halloween on Lewis Avenue, you have Mrs. Debbie to thank for the candy, decorations, and good times! She never meets a stranger, and her enthusiasm and love for island life is contagious. Debbie truly exemplifies what it means to be the Beach Bum Queen.
PRINCESS MOANA: Lauri Kinkel
Whether she is teaching yoga on the beach or keeping us updated through the Connect Tybee Facebook page, Lauri Kinkel has found her center on Tybee Island. She exudes grace and kindness, making her the perfect choice for Princess Moana.
BIG KAHUNA: JAMIE “BAMA” DAVIS
Originally from Mobile, Alabama, Jamie “Bama” Davis has made his mark on Tybee Island through his charm, wit, and undeniably larger than life personality. Because he is just as well known for slinging drinks and entertaining customers at Doc’s Bar as he is for always lending a helping hand to anyone in need, Bama epitomizes the playful, fun, and warm spirit of the Big Kahuna title.
Let’s give them a big sandy round of applause and get ready for the most splash-tastic parade yet on May 15, 2026!
And don’t miss the Royal Coronation on April 29th at the Tybee American Legion!
